LESSONS SHOULD ACCOMMODATE STUDENT LEARNING STYLES

I have 15 years of teaching experience with special needs students in a rural school district. During this time i provided private tutoring sessions for Elementary, Middle, High School and College students. At the college level my tutoring experience is with reading, writing, study skills and organization. Currently I develop educational programming for incarcerated youth.
My belief is that all students have different learning styles. Therefore lessons need to be individualized to meet student needs. A teacher can be anyone, but not everyone can be a teacher. Every child has a unique learning style and it is the job of the teacher to understand this and find the best way to teach the child. I am a patient and understanding person because I once to was a student. I knew that I had certain learning styles that worked better than others, but I could not tell the teacher this. A Little Bit About Me...

I was fortunate to be able to enter college full-time at the age of fourteen. This gave a great opportunity to pursue a wide variety of interests and still graduate slightly ahead of my peers. As a result I had almost completed the requirements for majors in several subjects, including chemistry, German, music and the subject I received my degree in, biology.
