I like to teach using a hands-on approach. I believe the best way to learn is to do or at least attempt to do. I really find satisfaction when I see the “light bulb” go off and there is a glimmer if understanding in the eyes of my pupil.
For the past 10 years I have been teaching a wide variety of students ranging in age from their 80’s to 8. My main belief when it comes to teaching is that all students can learn. As an educator, it is my responsibility to make my students successful. I feel that it is my responsibility to teach to all learning styles to give the students the best chance at success. I believe that all of the students are capable of doing what I ask of them, some may have to work a little harder than others. I believe that the only way to really learn mathematics is to do mathematics. This is achieved mostly through assignments, but also through discussions and exercises.
