I know Microsoft Word 2000 to 2010 pretty well. I use this all the time. I am not proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, or Access. I did take the classes and did really well in them at Shasta College. I am a strong believer in the Socratic method of teaching, which from my understanding, means asking the student questions regarding what they already know about a concept in order to customize the lesson and/or "lead" them to the answer.
