What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning. However, this method is not predominately taught in Georgia education system. I have found this method to be very effective. The other method is patience. Students who strugge with their academic learning usually are having other areas of difficulty which may be social learning. Having clinical training allows me to make a more accurate assessment.

I believe that patience is key to a child's learning experience. When I was in school, I had teachers that were mostly concerned with tearing through the curriculum. Many times there were some left behind in the process who did not firmly grasp the concepts being taught. In one-on-one tutoring and teaching there is an opportunity to re-learn the material in a different way so that a child who may not have gotten in class has another chance to learn the material. A Little Bit About Me...
