Through my teaching experience thus far, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will also become more confident in their abilities. I love working with students and teaching them something new. The best feeling is when someone understands a concept that they didn't before; when something "clicks" for a student, I feel as if my job as a tutor was done. I'm a very determined, persistent, caring, and patient person; all of these characteristics have helped me become a great tutor.
As a current undergraduate chemistry and honors student at Arcadia University, I was recommended to become a tutor from several of my teachers my first year in college. I became a certified CRLA tutor and started tutoring my sophomore year of college; I've been tutoring ever since. Rushing into a problem without first figuring out the best approach to solving it is not my idea of what tutoring is about. I ask the person their question and let them show me what they know. I then proceed to follow them through where they get stuck and show them how to achieve the answer. I am very patient and I feel anyone can understand any problem they have. Giving up is not an option and I always make sure they comprehend the answer and they leave happy.

As a Saratov State University of Russia Graduate, I had, as it very common for Russia education, minors in Physics and Mathematics. After finishing the University I was working for three years as a Technology Trainer appreciated by hospital staff for ability to explain technology in understandable terms. After coming to US in 1997 and working as a chauffeur, I began tutoring among my colleagues' and friends' children in mathematics and physics where I can tutor from elementary level all the way to college degree program.
