I have taught in several Elementary and Secondary schools and also as a Public Historical Interpreter in a major museum here in North Carolina. Currently I am an experienced Reading Comprehension Tutor at an award winning elementary school located in Western North Carolina. I believe in working closely with parents,guardians and students. I meet the student where there are and assist and support them in understanding the subject. Reading Comprehension is a new skill of mine and I have two years of experience in the field. I have a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 6th. I have home schooled them the past 9 years. They have very different learning styles which has helped me to learn to teach in different ways to accommodate their needs. I am patient and easy going and I love helping kids. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling.
