I have been teaching in various forms for over ten years. I was a teaching assistant for four semesters in graduate school. I mentored and tutored people during my time as a Naval officer. I worked for Kaplan Inc for about a year, teaching almost all of their tests, including SAT, ACT, MCAT, LSAT, GRE, and GMAT. I taught mathematics and statistics at Parkland College for three years. I am currently employed as a full-time instructor at a government laboratory...but I'd like to teach more, in the late afternoons, evenings, and weekends!

I always have to assess what my students don't know. I have to create a method of teaching the information to them that they can relate to. After I teach I always ask myself, "What have they learned? How do I know that they have learned it?" I am genuinely rewarded when I see a student succeed. I also understand that our education system is largely driven my standardized tests.
