While in law school, I assisted students enrolled in a summer program with residential advising and subject mentoring/tutoring. The program was offered through CLEO and hosted by Valparaiso with classes being taught by visiting professors from participating schools. The program launched students with passing grades from that program into the study of law by helping them overcome some shortfall in their application. I have a daughter that is hearing impaired and has a langauge processing disorder. I also have a teenage son that is extremely bright, but a little lazy at school work. Then I will do a problem step by step, showing the student what I am doing. Next, I will have the student do the same problem, but recreate the steps that I had shown them, guiding them along the way.
