A Little Bit About Me...

In general, I've always loved Science and Social Studies, so those are my strong points. I love talking about History and learning new things every day. Science can be exciting, but also tricky. I'd love to help teach, and even learn more, alongside someone who needs the information. Knowledge is power, especially when it helps you get a good grade ;) About myself-- I love music, watching funny videos on YouTube, and drinking Starbucks. I prefer to sit down with students with a white board in front so that we may "map-out" and categorize the information being delivered. Talking students through the subject while providing visuals has been my most effective ways of getting students to remember and process information.
I received my teaching degree from Sam Houston State University in 2004 and have been happily teaching ever since. My favorite subject is US History, both before and after Reconstruction. I love helping students understand concepts that seem 100% foreign to them. I teach mostly geared towards visual learners. I tend to use visual and real life examples to push my students to grasp the concepts for themselves. I prefer to make them do the work and answer questions as we move forward.
