I believe in guiding the student to find the answer foir themselves through the use of props or examples. I also would try to impart the skills that have made me successful in my educational career. I have no formal experience. I am employed by a church to provide child care during the service. The experience I have is with my own children and my extensive tour of the community college system. Having homeschooled my children (eldest is attending a top 20 public university)and volunteering extensively in the school community, I have become familiar with a wide variety of learning styles. My legal background has prepared me for tutoring in that I am able to effectively communicate with the student and present the material in a manner conducive to a learning experience(similar to explaining legalese to a lay person). Above all, I strive to ensure that the student has a true understanding of the materials, as opposed to simple memorization. I strongly encourage the student to take an analytical approach to learning, and to view both sides of any issue so that true understaning of the subject matter is achieved. My goal is to get my teaching credential in the next two years. I am convinced about my vocation of teaching. The idea of being part in the development of the children is my biggest motivation to become a teacher. I know that this job demands huge effort and comes with enormous responsibilities but it will be worth. I have worked with children. I think the best way to help them to improve in school is to make them feel confident in order to recognize their strengthnesses and their weaknesses and working in both.
