A Little Bit About Me...

I have a unique approach to teaching because my background is both analytical (numbers and science) and imaginative (theater and literature). While classroom training is my forte, I also have a solid background in teaching online. This combination is particularly useful since no two children learn in the same way. I do not believe any student is dumb. If he or she has struggled picking up a concept, it is more likely because the right method of teaching has not yet been explored. I also believe educational advancement needs to be determined objectively by comparing scores from start to finish and subjectively by measuring a student's own feelings about his or her progress.

I like working with children and young people very much. I believe that teaching should always be student-centered. It is my goal to find what helps a person to learn and really work with that student's natural talent and personality. I am very patient and persistent. If necessary, I think it is okay to repeat information until the student is comfortable and confident that they have learned it. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in identifying the learning style of the student which can take some time with some. Are they a visual learner I draw pictures, maps, charts and video; if an audio learner tapes, lecture, youtube, video, etc,.. and if a kinesthetic learner then they need the hands on experience to develop the learning that is needed, so then standing back to guide the thought process without doing it for them.
I started as an Adjunct Instructor at ISU for the Geomatics Engineering program for the 2007-2008 school year. Prepare for class setup the curriculum, homework, grading and test for 10-12 students. I went to ITT Technical Institute following that and was offered to Chair School of Drafting & Design. I taught and ran the department for 2 years. I was in charge of 4-10 teachers and 170+ students.
