A Little Bit About Me...

As a college graduate I found that my skills were better off served outside the classroom and could better be used in a one-on-one situation instead of 15 kids at once. I hold a BS in Communication with concentration on English. I have extensive experience with writing and editing as I have worked for various publications. During the past years I have tutored a number of children helping them to read. In addition I have spent countless hours teaching computers to various ages from 10-60 years of age. I have helped in teaching Microsoft Office applications as well as the internet. Every student I have taught has come home with passing grades, and at least one level higher than they were bringing home on their own.

A Little Bit About Me...

While studying for my undergrad in economics I found a passion in helping others succeed as I was. I often held study sessions with groups ranging from 2- 10 people at least twice a week. When during these sessions if an individual felt lost, I would often meet with them at a later date to coach them separately. I have yet to receive a further degree in teaching but may be a path a may take. It is such a wonderful feeling to succeed at academics and I love to help others experience that.
I have experience working with adults but I love working with children as well. I have the ability to manipulate the way I teach that will maximize the learning for each individual. I'm am a very personal and creative person thats wants everyone to succeed in their academics.

I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. I performed a variety of duties while working as an accountant including supervising staff. As an internal auditor I the day-to- day operations of an internal audit unit.
