I adjust to the student/learner as I am told or discover their learning preferences. However, in my experience and research, I have noticed that active learning and discovery-based learning are arguably most effective mechanisms for knowledge retention. Therefore, I make considerable efforts to implement these styles into my teaching.
I have always been passionate about communications and teaching. During my teaching experiences, I have realized that all students learn differently and at varying speeds. To assume that every student is the same is wrong. Explaining a complex topic using a linear path may inform some but confuse others. Therefore, it is my goal to teach students using different sensory modalities and with each different sensory modality, a different explanation.
