I am passionate about my subject area, English, and endeavor constantly to share my love of literature and writing with my students, and to inspire within in them a life-long reverence for literature. . I encourage and support each and every student to work toward the achievement of their highest potential. I worked as a teacher's assistant for several years in public schools in Illinois, assisting in K-5 classrooms. I worked at Sylvan Learning Center for 2 years, teaching beginning reading and elementary reading. As I gained experience, I began tutoring students in the school district where I worked. After several years, I became a fifth grade teacher in a private school where I taught for 5 years. In this position, I worked with students on writing skills, and prepared students for our annual math olympics, science fair, and spelling competitions. I tutored individual 4th and 5th graders after school.

One of the greatest joys of teaching is seeing each one of my students grow as an individual and academically.I have always wanted to be a teacher since I can remember. I wanted to give back to my students what was given to me. "A chance to to learn and grow". For me, it seemed only natural to obtain a career in the area of my first love "TEACHING".
