Twenty years of rotating between five schools as a permanent School Board Certified substitute teacher/tutor as well as tutor college students at the college location. The reading, writing and math included ESOL students. Computer classes which included ESOL students, were keyboarding, word processing, power point, excel and internet. There were adult evening classes on the same subjects. Also write lesson plans, request for needed supplies, oral reports on many different areas of student abilities.
Pleasant and respectful but firm, listen as well as teach. Tutor work from teacher's information to insure the student understands the lesson given by school teacher.

My comments on tutoring Elementary : I teach youngsters how to learn -- the basics for what they must know. I teach them how to read and write (and any old-sters who need to know how also)as well as the basics in Math, History, Geography, Phonics, Grammar, Vocabulary, Spelling, Social Science, Reading, and other subjects taught in elementary school. I am gentle, patient, honest, and prompt. AND I fashion each lesson to every student individually. I don't teach in a "one size fits everyone" style.

I am gentle, yet demanding. I am soft, but strict. I use humor to keep my students interested and in focus. I teach, but I also listen and watch for signals from my students in order to know if they understand or need more explanation. I like to create a meeting day before the tutoring begins. That meeting day consist of me seeing where the student I am tutoring is at. After seeing the subject that student is struggling with, I create weekly packets for the days I do tutor the student. That packet will be practice for the student to do infant of me as an "exam". Weekly packets will be given all the time until that student masters the concept.

My comments on tutoring Elementary : I have taught every Elementary subject when I taught in the classroom even music (though I must admit I wasn't so great at it). Other then that I do an extremely professional job.

My students enjoy coming to lessons with Ms. Sharon. I make them feel comfortable, and always encourage them to ask me questions. I always ask them if their was something that they had in the classroom that they didn't understand, and they are not inhibited to tell me so. They know I will not judge them on that, I am just inquiring to help them out so that when they go back into the classroom they will understand what is going on.
