A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. I have also been a substitute teacher at my local high school since 2007. I recently worked under a doctoral candidate on a research project about warblers. I believe in the program of teaching across the curriculum. As a teacher to be, I believe that students are much more willing to participate in writing goood papers when it is in a subject that has meaning for them. If this is not possile, I take an approach to the topic in order to make it more interesting, especially when there are such good internet resources today.
