Testing Strategies is one of my top subjects! Elementary students can struggle with standardized math tests because they view it as a math test as opposed to a problem-solving test. In math, one has to know how to apply a skill to come up with a correct answer. For multiple choice test, one can often times find the correct answer by using other types of reasoning outside of mathematics, or at least make choosing the correct answer choice significantly more probable.

When I became a general education teacher, I worked towards making my math lessons activity-based while rotating through small groups of students for personalized lessons.

Those children varied from autistic, cerebal palsy, Attention Deficit Disorders with and without Hyperactivity. My undergraduate degree is in French however I took extensive coursework in mathematics and chemistry and have a good understanding of all the sciences. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics. While working toward my Masters in Environmental Science I was able to teach the laboratory portion of an introductory course for two years. This allowed me to develop lesson plans, tests and quizzes and lab activities. I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education. I took the coursework for Middle and High School endorsements in 4 other subject areas. I work in Remedial Education at a local university currently.
