I learned to be patient, understanding and compassionate when dealing with a student’s learning style one-on-one. I have acquired the skills to adapt to an individual’s unique learning style by using their other senses. A student will learn most effectively by utilizing various parts of the brain by seeing it, hearing it and writing it down. I enjoy teaching high schoolers for a variety of reasons. Mostly because of how honest I can be with them. I enjoy teaching hands-on, real life application of the sciences in a way that students can understand the concept as well as the usefulness to them out in the real world. My goal is not to be the student's friend or even their favorite teacher, but to be fair and prepare them for what life might throw at them outside of the classroom. I want them to have the tools and discipline to succeed in the real world.
I currently teach high school science. In the past four years I have taught classes such as physical science (an introductory course to physics and chemistry), biology and anatomy & physiology. I currently have a BS in Animal Science and a Master's of Art and Teaching in General Science. I also hold certification to teach Biology in the state of New Hampshire.

As an undergraduate I worked at the mathematics tutor lab in our department. As a PhD student I both taught and assisted in the teaching of mathematics courses at the university level. Also I have experience with privately tutoring elementary, jr. high and high school students.
I help point to the truth, aiding the student in discovery. I try to avoid being overly didactic, and prefer to work by asking questions. The most satisfying thing about teaching is being able to witness and participate in the process of comprehension.
