A Little Bit About Me...

I have a deep passion for learning, and it's always my goal not only to help students learn skills but to find their inner motivation too. I currently work as a substitute teacher, and I appreciate the chance I have to see the best of what teachers and paraprofessionals are using in the classroom and how they help their students. I have much experience students of all ages with their homework and projects as a nanny, babysitter, and older sister of four. I was also a certified therapeutic riding instructor, so I taught individuals with disabilities to ride horses. I was a top student myself, and I have a B.A. in English with a minor in history. I have several years experience working in the public school system but currently work in the juvenile justice system teaching adjudicated youth English Langauge Arts. I earned my BA in History and English from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2005. I completed my teaching certification requirements the same year and hold a Michigan Teacher's Certification in both ENG and HIST at the secondary level. While attending classes, I worked with kids at all age levels and have tutored 1st graders to seniors in high school.
