A Little Bit About Me...

When I was 12-13 years old, I started learning Spanish. I am now 22 years old and am pretty proficient in Spanish. Also, I tutor Business Law a little bit. I have taken a course at Suny Cobleskill along with Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. Writing and English is something that I am very good at. Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work. My style is marked with a belief in the student and I encourage them and acknowledge their progress.

While studying for my undergrad in economics I found a passion in helping others succeed as I was. I often held study sessions with groups ranging from 2- 10 people at least twice a week. When during these sessions if an individual felt lost, I would often meet with them at a later date to coach them separately. I have yet to receive a further degree in teaching but may be a path a may take. It is such a wonderful feeling to succeed at academics and I love to help others experience that.
I have experience working with adults but I love working with children as well. I have the ability to manipulate the way I teach that will maximize the learning for each individual. I'm am a very personal and creative person thats wants everyone to succeed in their academics.

A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to make sure that none of the children I tutor feel inferior to anyone else in their skills. Slow learners require a few tricks along the way such as nmonic devices or other reading assistant tools. All children have the ability to do whatever they dream of, a helping hand in the right direction and some patients is all it takes. As for computer teaching, a hands on experience is the way to go. They have to see what the program is capable of to know what they are.
