I have two years of experaince teaching in public schools and four years of experaince teaching in Christian schools. I have an advanced degree in information technology and a background in English education. I have taught for many decades and use a variety of teaching styles since all students learn differently. I am more of a 'traditional' style teacher, realizing that the basics are vital. Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them. I believe the biggest key to learning is finding a way for students to relate to the information. Getting to know the student and relating thier interests to the material at hand is key to making a connection. I also believe it is critical to remain positive and supportive with students.
