Though I have no official experience as a tutor, being the oldest of three children there was always an oppurtunity to help with homework. I like to teach using visual examples and being patient to allow the student to work at a pace they are comfortable with. Because I am a Business major, I tend to like to work with only numbers. But my tutoring career began with kids that were below grade level in reading. So I used my business mindset to give my young clients(students) stories that were of interest to them and I made sure that the stories were easy reading and I gradually got the kids to read "at grade level".
