I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Lindenwood University. As a sophomore I was chosen as one of Lindenwood University’s History Tutors, a position I maintained until graduation in 2009. My primary responsibilities included: conducting exam study sessions, grading exams and assignments, and providing one on one tutoring (f.e. implementing study tactics, test review, editing). Currently, I am embarking on the pursuit of Graduate School. The foundation of my academic experience starts with Mrs. Cox, a teacher for over 30 years and a mother of four — my mother. It is through her guidance that I have acquired the patience, tact, and discipline necessary for learning and instructing. I do not favor one particular teaching method as each individual learns differently. That being said, I try to provide an array of options for the student.

I am an experienced Educator at both the secondary and post secondary levels. While teaching at Puyallup High School I received two awards for excellence for my work with special needs students. I was also responsible for developing a program that was named “Best in State” two years in a row. I have excellent teaching and communications skills. I am a published author with two books and four booklets. I have written educational curriculum to NATEF standards, developed many courses and taught classes to diverse groups of students. Most recently I was training soldiers in Iraq in the repair and operation of MRAP vehicles. I have many years experience as an illustrator and graphic designer, with large and small advertising agencies in Los Angeles. I have taught sculpture to children with Cindy Jackson through Art Center College of Design's program, "Art Center for Kids". I have also held volunteer workshops for Children of the Night in Van Nuys, California. I have privately tutored as well, for portfolio development for high school students seeking admission to art schools. I paint and draw in weekly workshops, and have begun my MFA through Academy of Art in San Francisco's internet program.
