Arabic is my native language. I also studied it at PSU and getting a minor in it. I got mostly A's in my Arabic classes. I am in a linguistic field planning to become an ESL teacher soon. I have helped some Arabic students and helped them pass the class. If I am not sure about something, I will study it myself in order to assist you in our next meeting. I also have 2 years experience in tutoring Arab students with their English homework. I feel more comfortable with lower-level classes but may be able to assist with higher levels too. Professional Modern Standard Arabic Linguist and Translator

I prefer to structure the lessons based off the type of learner the student is. I have tutored many linguists and find that some work better with rote memorization, some with flashcard games, some with conversation. I love to challenge my students with transcription and translation of articles and short news cuts as I find this pushes the boundaries of their vocabulary in Arabic and is interactive as the events are current. I have access to many systems for language learners and will find what fits for each student and challenges them to excel in Arabic.

I strongly believe that an education that leads with concepts instead of rote is the surest route to lifelong success. This is certainly the method that worked for me, and I find that, without the conceptual grounding, a student will not get as much out of necessary practice exercises. Thus, when I am working with a student on a subject, I tend to approach the concept foremost, creatively using a wide range of examples and descriptions to elucidate it. This is the best use of my time with a student, instead of just correcting their exercises. It also requires the confidence of the student to know that they can fully grasp a concept first, and then put it into practice, so I like to encourage that personal confidence.
