I have over five years of experience in teaching and one-on-one tutoring with students ranging from elementary-school children to undergraduates. I worked as a peer tutor at the Colorado College Writing Center throughout my undergraduate education, helping students with all stages of the writing process. I went on to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA at an educational nonprofit, where I helped young children to improve their literacy skills. English is my passion. I love the written word and believe it to be the highest form expression known to man. This is why I pursued and obtained a degree in English. Though I only have my bachelor's degree, I have studied more literature than most students in the graduate program. I am also a writer on the side, mainly poetry, and have been published by several magazines. Grammar is second nature to me; I know instinctively wrong from right in that department. I don't have as much teaching experience as some, but I am thorough in my duties and eager to fulfill them.
