I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. Since then, I have taught reading and mathematics to both children with special needs and regular education children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. As I gained a greater thirst to do more to help children, outside of teaching in the public school setting, I bagan tutoring. Teaching is something that is not meant for everyone. I am fortunate to say that my academic success is due to my ability to break down any material to a basic ideal and teach the materials in mutiple ways. The most important thing I do is make the material appeal to any individuals. Once these things are established, I believe student can effectivly learn and grow.
I am Paine College graduate. I earned a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2006. While at Paine College I took variety of science classes including organic chemistry, atmospheric science, and cell biology. Since graduating, I have spent two years as a high school math teacher. I have also tooken graduate work in mathematic and math education. For the past eight years I have also work or volunteered as a personal math tutor.
