I have taught in various school settings for the past 17 years, from subbing in public schools to teaching in area private schools. I have also worked at a local tutoring center and homeschool co-op. I am a firm believer that all students can learn if given the proper tools and learning experiences. I utilize a variety of techniques and strategies to ensure my students learn to the best of their ability. I am very passionate about my students learning and very easy going. I have a great rapport with students I teach and will strive to make sure each student has the best education experience possible. I began my teaching career by substituting and volunteering at the local schools. I then completed my degree in Middle Grades Education in Social Science. When I began teaching, I taught Reading 3 of the 5 years I taught and fell in love with it. I am currently trying to complete my Reading Endorsement and follow up with a Reading Specialist degree.

In general, I simply love working with children. I find great happiness in knowing that I personally helped a child succeed academically. As the oldest of four children, I have always been a leader amongst my siblings and always found myself helping them academically as they grew older. I just recently graduated with my Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a Chemistry Minor in May 2007 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I enjoy the sciences very much. I finished my BA with concentrations in management and accounting at Troy University in 2007,then worked for three years in an Accounting Office. I left there in January 2010 to pursue my Masters in Accounting. I gained valuable experience in reading, writing and the application of mathematical formulas through working in a fast paced accounting office. I supervised one to three employees, trained them and audited their work. I have never officially tutored a student, but I have trained employees on accounting principals and how to write to the IRS and clients, as well as helping out friends and fellow students.
