Helping your student feel good about themselves
My style of teaching is patience, understanding individual needs, and building self confidence in the student. I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, ad 4th grade for 10 years in Ascension Parish and St. Tammany Parish. I have taught 12 years as a Reading Interventionist specializing in the Voyager program using small group settings. My plan uses diagnostic tools to determine a starting place for each student to determine needs. I use many types of games, stories, writing practice, flashcards, etc. to enhance the tutoring session and to keep the child engaged in learning. I tutor students in Study skills, writing, spelling, phonics, grammar, basic learning skills, and organizational skills relating to homework (time management).
