Over the course of my career, I have taught a wide variety of courses for age groups K-12 which include: English, math, history, geography and English as a second language. I am quite comfortable with classes of different sizes, at different levels, and with various teaching styles. I incorporate the tactile, visual and auditory teaching methods. I have also taught adults to read in the adult literacy programs at many libraries. Some believe classes should be teacher-centered, where the teacher is expert and authority in presenting information. I am passionate about teaching children. I always try to find new and innovative ways to make learning fun. I consider it my goal to make the student want to come back the next day. I am very hands on and will bring in aids to help children understand the lesson that they are working on.
