A Little Bit About Me...

I have been learning and studying Mandarin Chinese since I was a child. I grew up attending a Chinese school from the ages of 7 to 17, and I have continued to study Chinese since arriving at the University of Florida. I have taken 3 senior level Chinese courses, receiving an "A" in all, and recently completed a 10-week study abroad program in Chengdu in the Sichuan region of China. I can read and write both Traditional and Simplified characters. I have also visited Taiwan over some summers for an extended period of time, usually around 2 months.

My comments on tutoring Chinese : Although I studied Mandarin Chinese at the University of Florida, much of my experience is real world through friends and business associates. I learned Mandarin to improve business negotiations and to better understand the culture. I have been consulting western business with interest in eastern markets for the past year. Currently, I also provide service to beginner/intermediate students seeking to learn Mandarin for school or recreational purposes.

Prior to serving in the United States Army, I was a successful entrepreneur in NJ. In 2003, I was recruited and after serving I returned to train troops at the Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning, GA. After returning home, I began working at a financial firm and became a licensed Investment Advisor and Asset Manager. I ran the Manasquan Edward Jones branch office until deciding to return to school. I studied Political Science at the University of Florida completing their International Relations program Cum Laude.
