I am a recent graduate of the University of South Alabama, College of Education. I returned to school to earn a teaching certificate in elementary education so that I might expand my career in environmental science as an educator. I have completed two semesters of student teaching, one semester in classroom observation/aide, and one semester as a reading tutor. In addition to these degree requirements, I have been an activity presenter at the Baldwin County Water Festival for the past four years. During my sophomore year in college, I tutored a 10th grader in geometry for two semesters. I also tutored him and one of his peers for one semester in Algebra II. I then got a job as a laboratory teaching assistant. I taught laboratories for non-biology majors for 2 years, which gave me the ability to explain the subject matter in a concise way that the students could understand. I also became proficient in making detailed lesson plans according to the curriculum suggested for each lab session.
