My experience as a teacher has been gained through my work at Easter Seals, a pediatric physical therapy center, for which I have taught many children skills in life, communicating, and other various skills. As early as I can remember I have always wanted to have a degree that involved children. So i decided to go to college to become an Elementary School teacher. I graduated from Black Hawk College where I earned my associates degree. After completion of my associates I then transfered to Western Illinois University. I majored in Elementary Education K-9. I have over 200 hours of classroom observation and teaching time. I have been an afterschool supervisor/leader at an inner city elementary school. I have also subsitute taught in a public school classroom. I was also the president of the TRIPLE E elementary education club at my college. I was also a leader at AWANA (a children's program). In addition to the classroom experience I have, I have also written numerous Units and/or lesson plans to teach in classrooms.
I am a kinesthetic learner, so I enjoy teaching in a very approachable, hands on kind of way. Since my elementary years I've always been a student driven to succeed and pursue higher levels of education.
