A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with Microsoft Access for over seven years in the real world environment of health care insurance. My experience is not tied to the basic and safe approach of a typical classroom environment. Instead, I have had to learn and survive under the pressures of deadlines and required performance. I feel that this fact gives me a unique perspective, that can be shared with the would be Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel developer. My talents include but are not limited to creating pivot tables, using formulas to solve math problems and to automate calculation, VBA (Visual Basic for Application) programming, SQL, ODBC connections and user form creation. I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same. I do believe Accounting is a complex field and the student has to have an interest in the field to truly be successful in retaining what they are taught.
While earning my Masters in Accounting, I voluntarily tutored Undergrad students that were earning their Associates or Bachelors in Accounting. The students were enrolled in the local community college (Central Carolina Tech) as well as the University of South Carolina. I have earned an Associates, Bachelors, and Masters which all have concentration in Accounting.

I have always had a passion for education and learning. I have always excelled in mathematics from elementary to collegiate levels. I LOVE math. I love to do math and I love to teach math. I was even on a math competition team in middle school. I have a strong statistical background from my Psychology studies and have taught Middle Grades Math to 8th graders.
