I believe in interactive teaching, where the student is as involved as the teacher. My satisfaction comes from watching students discover knowledge that they had previously thought unavailable. Every student can learn, and my purpose and goal is to help each student stretch as far as he or she is willing to go.
I have completed all requirements for a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught mathematics, computer applications, life skills, and other subjects at high school and community college levels in Colorado. I have tutored and homeschooled statistics, college algebra, trigonometry, and other mathematics topics, and homeschooled a complete spectrum of high school level topics.

A Little Bit About Me...

Worked for Ross Stores in Gainesville area for close to three years dealt with customers and staff as the Store Manager. My priorities were training, hiring, and increasing sales. Ultimately, responsbile for entire store and entire staff. Worked for Linens-n-Things in Gainesville as a Merchandise Manager. Performed many different tasks however main duties were to train new employees, hard lines, and backroom. Save-a-Lot Grocery gave me the opportunity as Store Manager to improve sales, cleanliness, and morale. I acheived all these results in a short time because of positive motivational techniques. As a graduate of The Ohio State University I was very driven to assist other individuals whenever I could to complete their education and help them in any way I possibly could. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children and youth pre-school - 12th grade since 1982. I have done some literacy instruction with adults. I have been recognized as an outstanding mentor to disadvantaged youth. I have written and published articles, and currently am finishing a novel.I have worked one-on-one with autistic children, grades K-5, and am certified in exceptional education and elementary K-6 in Florida. I have worked in Alachua County public schools since 2007 as a substitute teacher and aide, and have spent many hours one-on-one with children (K-5) needing extra support and assistance.
