The first step I take in my approach to tutoring new students is to understand and assess their strengths and weaknesses. I use different styles and methods of teaching depending upon the student's ability and attitude. A Little Bit About Me...

I began as a middle school English teacher in the Bronx a decade ago. For ten years I’ve taught English language and literacy skills in New York, Oakland and Ecuador. I speak Spanish and have a second master’s degree in journalism. I achieved humbling recognition as a writer and producer of print and radio journalism in Alabama and New York. Called back to my original love for helping young adults, I returned to my starting point, accepting another middle school job in the Bronx in 2009 before circumstances pushed me upstate. As a teacher and journalist I have developed a deep understanding of English, and have had much success in teaching it to all levels of learners.
