I currently attend graduate school at Stony Brook where I'm working towards a Master of Public Health degree. I have undergraduate degrees in Physical Therapy and Biomathematics. I am excellent with standardized test preparation, never having placed less than the 90th percentile in any standardized test. I have never been a formal tutor. After college, I worked for an SAT preparation service teaching the math sections. Additionally, I have been tutoring students in math privately since graduation.
I love math, so I try to convey my love for math on the student. I like to explain things in terms of what they understand and build upon it into the new material that they are working on. In teaching, I find the key to unlocking the minds of the students is to find the appropriate analogy or metaphor.
