I was a student teacher at Miller Place's Middle School and Three Village's Murphy Junior High. I taught both 7th grade honors classes, 8th grade, and 9th grade honors classes. After a few minutes, I ask them what they think is the best way to approach the problem. If they cannot come up with one, I then guide them through the appropriate thinking pattern in order for them to solve the problem.
