American History is one of my top subjects! Very proficient in history. Learning and reading about history is my favorite past time and would love to instill that passion in others.

I have taught classes on aviation related subjects for my Civil Air Patrol. I was homeschooled all the way to the college level, and I remember a lot of subjects in great detail. I have not taught classes at a high school or college. Generally speaking, I have a vast area of knowledge and I know I can help you with your learning needs!

I'm a visual learner, so my teaching style is the same, but I can adapt. I'm a big fan of the "See One, Do One, Teach One" approach. So in group settings I will teach a concept, give a quiz on the concept, and then have the students teach the concept back to the group.

In January of 2008, I was hired to work at the University of Akron – Wayne College Learning Center as a peer tutor. We are responsible for helping students that come in seeking tutoring (including test preparation and homework help). Over the past two plus years, I have tutored students in mathematics (college level basic math 1 through calculus one) and chemistry. It is my firm belief that if students have the confidence in themselves to believe they can do well, they will succeed. I believe that there is just not one way to teach because there are many different learning style. Teachers must identify their students' learning styles and find ways to incorporate them into the lesson. I agree with Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences.
