I'm currently a senior attending Winter Park High School. I have a slew of education and extracurricular related accolades, and have been commended highly for my skills in writing (both creative and professional). My transcript has a long history of Advanced Placement courses and my standardized exam scores are impressive to say the least least (30 ACT, 1800 SAT, multiple AP Exam credits).

Some children respond to verbal teaching, while others prefer visual teaching, or others like to interact with their environment (the hands on approach). Each child has their own language. In my experience, fear and self-consciousness interfere the most with learning. This seems especially true of arithmetic and higher levels of math. I don't believe that children should force themselves to memorize something they don't understand just to please a teacher. It is my job to find a way to make it clear.
