I have 15 years of teaching experience with special needs students in a rural school district. During this time i provided private tutoring sessions for Elementary, Middle, High School and College students. At the college level my tutoring experience is with reading, writing, study skills and organization. Currently I develop educational programming for incarcerated youth. My belief is that all students have different learning styles. Therefore lessons need to be individualized to meet student needs. I'm a fifth-teen year old, currently enrolled at Thomas J. Corcoran High School, where I am a sophomore I currently take IB classes and wanted to start tutoring to pass the time and pick up a little extra cash. I'm drug free and have never tasted alcohol. I really enjoy engaging the student in discussion of the topic and helping them experience the events in History rather than just remembering dates and locations. I am currently pursuing a degree in secondary education with a specialization in American History. I have a passion for the subject and for helping students succeed. Beginning in high school I found myself driven to help children in need. Through my participation in Mercy Action, I raised money for mentally delayed children, and set up numerous barbeques for them. Later, I began tutoring a young brazilian boy in the 5th grade.
