I have always had a deep appreciation and passion for the English language. I began reading at the age of three, and excelled in reading and grammar throughout my public school education. As a Marketing professional for more than 25 years, I have written extensively for clients. I recently collaborated on a play which is being produced in November of this year. As I suffered through my younger years with Attention Deficit Disorder, I feel that it is extremely important to appeal to almost all of the senses when teaching. As for myself, I am definitely a visual learner, so I feel that visual aids are important. I am a big fan of hand outs in full color. You will often find me drawing a picture on the board. I feel it is important to hear it and see it, and if you can, touch it. Another important teaching style I implement, is watching my students and making sure they know how to do it. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University and am currently a graduate student in Reading at Clemson University. I have a BS in elementary education and absolutely love working with children.
