I earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, where I tutored for 2 years in the subjects of physics, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, engineering mechanics and thermodynamics. In addition to my technical background, I studied English and liberal arts for 2 years and wrote fiction for my college magazine. Over the past 2 years I have worked as a volunteer tutor with students in Chicago ranging from 7th grade through college, teaching English, mathematics and science. I am an experienced engineer and technician, and can readily communicate the relevance of math and science to students at all levels. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in engineering.
