Anyone CAN learn ANYTHING...I promise. :)

I believe that happy people not only learn faster, but they also retain more. Far too much of our kids' lives are spent cooped up indoors. Therefore, I like to take an open-door approach to learning and like to schedule as many sessions as possible out of the house/library/etc. Each session is guaranteed to be filled with fun learning experiences that the pupil will be sure to remember. A session with a child that needs reading/spelling/comprehension, for instance, could very well be done at the zoo. I want my kids to learn, and have fun doing it! Our planet has so much to offer in the ways of educating our children! I never have to look far to find a teaching/learning opportunity!

I have a total of 6 years experience in teaching. I have experience teaching in a private christian school setting, a public high risk school setting, as well as a public optional school setting. I have taught Kindergarten (all subjects) and 3rd grade (Math). I am certified to teach K-6 but am highly qualified by the state board of education to teach Language Arts and English up to grade 8.

Excellent Reading Tutor with 25 years in the classroom/tutor

When I teach I like to show alot of enthusiasm for the subject that we're working on. I love to learn and I try to pass that on to my students. I use alot of positive reinforcement and praise. I want my students to feel good about their abilities to accomplish their work. My favorite thing is to see a smile on the face of my student when they realize that they can do it!
