Composition is one of my top subjects! I have always been an avid reader and writer. I tutored students in high school and college English classes. I also edit almost anything - articles, research papers, and speeches.

My teaching style is to be kind and patient. If a concept needs to be repeated 10 times before it makes sense, then that's what we will do. I would hope to share the joy of learning.
I have experience in accounting and taxes, in various industries. I started out with the Big Four, passed the CPA exam and moved to privately held businesses. I am currently a tutor and mentor for a fifth grade child in Delaware, Ohio via the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. I have gained a tremendous amount of experience working with this student in and out of the classroom, and it has allowed me to develop my teaching skills in all areas of curricula. I believe in starting with the basics in all things. Reading starts with Phonics, and writing starts with Spelling and Vocabulary, as well as old-fashioned handwriting skills. An absolute staple of learning, in my opinion, is frequent reading for pleasure – whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, novels or comic books. I am patient and love to teach, even reluctant learners.
