I have spent most of my life in an academic environment. I thrive on success- not only my own, but also the success of others around me. I became a substitute teacher in order to gain experience as a classroom leader. Tutoring is a necessary duty of an educator. Typically I incorporate a heavy communicative approach to the subject I am teaching, allowing knowledge to be shared through communication. Communication with the student helps to enforce the context of the material, which is essential for full comprehension. Once communication, context, and comprehension have been achieved, I encourage the student to independently solve the problem or demonstrate their newly gained ability in ways useful for the learning process to continue. I usually take a comfortable pace with my student, determining their needs, and intensify my approach as needed.
