Have taken and passed in high percentile: SAT, GRE, GMAT, SERIES 6 and 63, Insurance Licensing for Life, Health and Disability and Real Estate Licensing, Propane I and II safety certifications, National Oil Heat Association safety inspection certification.....In other words I have figured out how to study and take tests and pass them.
Interactive. I listen to the client's concerns and develop a plan. Then I can present a lesson we can accomplish together and homework that will give confidence. GED is one of my top subjects! I have taught all the subjects areas for GED in both the English and Spanish languages since 2000. I have helped more than 100 disadvantaged students achieve their GED certificates.

I try to engage my student, to tease the learning out of him or her. I have learned to explain, to give the information then to step back, allowing my student to think through to the conclusion. This involves silence sometimes, and the student talking more while I talk less, something not so easy for a teacher of Italian descent. Experiences has shown, however, that it often works.

My philosophy is that education is power. Knowledge is our greatest defense and our greatest weapon. Through knowledge we gain experience, which enriches our competence, which protests the ills of society, which leads to a social justice, and most important, liberty. Learning is an activity that we should never stop, and if we do, we begin to die. I believe all children can learn given the appropriate avenues to success. Part of our job is to find those avenues and encourage our students to use them.
I have been substitute teaching for 5 years. Within that time I decided that teaching was for me and went on to get my degree and certificate to teach. I have completed several long-term substitute teaching positions, picking up where a teacher left off, often times unexpectedly. I have taught classes in the elementary, middle and high school.
