A Little Bit About Me...

I have been driven my entire life to assist others. I started working in the health care industry as a CNA, 1979. I then went to college and obtained my social work degrees. I worked in various settings to include nursing homes, mental health centers, prisons, adolescent group homes and currently home health care, 1987 to 2009. I am currently pursing additional nursing education, so I can combine my knowledge in the social work arena with nursing. Throughout my work history, I was responsible for educational components, with staff, families and communities. As a student at Kansas State University, I have learned the importance of the pursuit of higher education. I have earned a BS in Psychology, an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, and will pursue a PhD in Family Life Education and Consultation starting during the 2009-2010 school year. I have written a lot of essays and read numerous research papers. For over a year and a half, I have tutored students in English, psychology, mathematics and sciences.
I enjoy teaching students how they learn. It is very important that students know their learning style. My goal is to help them learn how they best retain information.
