In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. My specialty is music, but I love to teach in general because kids need good mentors. Each child is different so I use an individualized approach to my teaching styles. We all learn differently whether we are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners. I asses the student and provide the material/exercises necessary in order to create the best learning experience possible. I have been teaching guitar lessons for a year now. I have just graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo with my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. During my college years, at Colorado College, while obtaining my education minor and majoring in history, I was able to tutor young children that were having reading problems in elementary school. I have also done some student teaching in a 9th grade geography class. Also, I student taught an 8th grade language arts class, where I was able to incorporate art with literature, stressing the importance of art in the classroom. Recently, I was able to hold a position with a company called Science Matters- it is an elementary after-school program with a focus on science.
