A Little Bit About Me...

I am a professional case manager who over the past 20 + years has held a variety of positions typical of the non-profit world. I work with the disabled population and have extensive successes working with those living with disabilities that fall under the autism spectrum and down syndrome. I am familiar with writing research papers and I am knowledgeable with the APA and Chicago Style of writing. I love English and the way in which words can create pictures in our minds. I am relocating from New York to Minnesota in the Spring of 2010 and I am thrilled to be given an opportunity to return to my favorite passion of teaching and empowering others to become lifelong learners.

I attended Houghton College for 2 1/2 years. Then I went to NCCC and earned an AS, then transferred to Charter Oak State College. They took all the credits I had earned as a student at both schools, allowed me to define my degree, told me which additional credits I needed and granted my degree. I have homeschooled my children for 15 years. My oldest is 19 and going to RIT in the fall. He has an AS which he got the week he turned 18. I also have two teens whom I currently school. I have taught them math courses including Algebra and Geometry, American History, writing, reading, etc. I also taught a class in Spanish 1 for other homeschooled students.
