My last position as a teacher was at William Thomas Academy in Sumter, South Carolina; it involved curriculum development as well as provided results for State regulations. Since my hire in August 2004, I have planned, co written, and implemented curriculum. As a result, 74.6% of my students exceeded the state average for the 2005 SCISA assessment of State Standards; scores in Seventy-five point four percent of my students exceeded the state average for the 2005. In addition, I have also implemented various academic incentive programs for student enrichment. With these programs, students continue to develop pride in their efforts to engage in the learning environment.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have..

In my experience, I have helped a couple of individuals in my past, considered mainly of collegues that attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical college and the Orangeburg County Library in Orangeburg, SC. While I am attending the library, some individuals who sit next to me ask for help on.. Microsoft office, or internet documents that they need help in printing.
I am very patient. My mother was a teacher and liked helping children and I believed that her genes have rubbed off on me as well. I like to help others succeed. I began tutoring as a volunteer with the America Reads program in high school. I continued volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club during college. After an opportunity to assist a professor in administering a freshman course, I applied to teach high school in Pasco County. I taught world history and psychology for one year before returning to school for my Master of Arts degree in History. I continued tutoring on the side, but spent most of my time assisting professors in the Department of History at Winthrop University as a Graduate Assistant where I edited exams and papers for undergraduate students. During the last year of my program, I worked with an SES program in South Carolina, tutoring both reading and math.
